Nursery. {part 2}

Big changes in the nursery this weekend. The room is almost complete. I am so excited to have my little girl use it!The glider came from The Comfortable Chair Store. I sat in a ton and this one is THE most comfortable chair ever.My furniture was handmade by my cousin. His company is called Krafty Kribs. I got to choose the look of the crib, the type of wood and the stain. It's all custom made!I wanted to incorporate birds into her room. The print above the changing table is from her Nana Rebecca. The birdcage is from Shaina!She's accumulated quite a few stuffed animals so far. The bunny was handmade for Adam as a baby.The chandelier and rug are from IKEA and the bedding is Restoration Hardware Baby. The bumper was to large so we folded it over to make it fit just right.
Just a few more details to finish up but I think we're ready for a baby :)

Antiquing with the Mags

This past weekend Shaina and Laura came in town to meet me, Beth and Colleen for a little shopping trip. It's not very often that 5 of the 8 Magnolia Arms Girls get together!
After a delicious lunch at Southern Sweets Bakery we headed off to wander through Kudzu and Scott's Antique Market.I didn't take my camera as I knew my purse would be heavy enough. Colleen used her point and shoot and captured some great stuff.We all had some good finds during the day.
Shaina snagged a window for her kitchen wall. I contemplated this lamp for the nursery, {so cute} but didn't end up with it in the end.
It's strange to be IN the pictures! But nice to have a few. I'm 30 weeks here. I think Laura is about 22.
Here Colleen caught me pulling up on my belly. She's up, she's down-I'm running out of room inside for this little one.We had such a great time. Just catching up and wandering around. I'm still trying to recover from being on my feet all day long but it was worth it.
Only two weeks and all of the great 8 will be together in Birmingham for two baby showers!

The House Always Wins.

We have an older house, from the 60's. She needs a lot of upkeep and repairs. We have tile walls in our bathrooms and towel bars like these.We've been missing a towel bar for longer than I would like to admit. I finally found a carrier online and ordered a replacement bar.
I was all excited yesterday when it came. Husband measured and cut the bar to size.He snapped the spring loaded bar in place and what happens???

The tile holding the bar in place falls off the wall!
Seriously.We laughed for about 10 minutes. Or really I laughed while husband looked baffled at how the tile had shot off the wall straight into the trashcan. So now we will be grouting the fallen tile back in place before we can get our towel bar up. {sigh}
At least we're halfway there!
Gotta love home repairs.

We saw Eclipse last night. It was SO good. Exactly how I pictured it when reading the book. Best one yet! It's a must see.
